Shinde

Location - On a palm island surrounded by flood plains
Accommodation - 8 twin tented rooms
Experience - Poised on the seasonal Delta with the best of both water and land activities
Price Guide - $440 - 850 pppn

Many camps in the Delta have gone for the semi-tented, platform look and Shinde is no different.  However, the designers clearly had a brainwave when they dreamed up the wagon-canopy roof for the dining room which is really quite funky. Shinde provides a compromise between comfort and a real wildlife/safari experience. Comfortable tents that manage to cater for all necessities without going OTT rest on wooden platforms overlooking the waterways of the Delta. Well located to assure good game viewing, the private nature of the concession allows for both night drives and guided walks (not possible within the parks) in addition to game drives and motor-boating. Game-wise, you can expect to see plenty of elephant, buffalo, herbivores and lion and you have a good chance of seeing the rare sitatunga antelope. The camp offers fly and spin fishing all year fround, though the best months are between May and November).  Shinde suits those that enjoy a reasonable level of comfort and proximity to nature and its location means that it can make the best out of both the water and dry-land habitats of this part of Botswana.
