The Lower Zambezi is one of the richest and varied concentrations of wildlife on this extensive water-system. The scenery is beautiful, with a backdrop of the high folds of the Zambezi escarpment and the broad river, its floodplains and forests spreading before you. Intimate camps of either indulgent luxury or bushcamp simplicity offer game drives, canoe or pontoon trips and some great walking.
The Lower Zambezi is known particularly for lion, elephant and hippo sightings, and is also one of the best places to encounter leopard. The mixed habitat guarantees excellent birdlife, and you can also try your hand at the exciting sport of tiger-fishing.
