Jul - Sept - On Safari July to September
This is the dry season across East and Southern Africa and in general terms the easiest time to see game in most parks. Water sources increasingly dry up, so game is forced to concentrate in smaller areas to be able to acess limited water and food. This makes life easier for predators and at the same time trees and bushes lose their leaves, making everything easier to see.
Parks centred around rivers are really at their best at this time of year; In Zambia, the Luangwa Valley comes into its own at this time of year. South Luangwa has superb all-round game viewing with a particularly good record for leopard sightings, while the wild and remote North Luangwa is one of the best places for walking safaris.
At this time of year the wildebeest migration heads north and straddles the Kenya / Tanzania border around the Mara River, so game viewing is superb in the Northern Serengeti and the Masai Mara.
