Northern Tanzania Light Camping Safari
Light mobile camping safari, including a 3 day walking safari in the heart of the Serengeti
This light mobile safari moves through some of the best areas of northern Tanzania, including a 3 day walking safari in the heart of the Serengeti. 11 days / 10nts from $3500 per person sharing, from and back to Kilimanjaro airport. There are several set departures (see dates below) for a maximum of 8 guests in all with no more than 4 in a single vehicle. Private departures can also be arranged at a small supplement as can add-ons to Zanzibar or elsewhere on the East African coast.
Safari highlights include:
Serengeti walking safari.
Canoeing safari in Arusha National Park.
Walking or biking through local village areas
Game viewing in the Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti National Park, Lake Manyara National Park and Arusha National Park.
Camping in a small and stylish, private camp.
The itinerary will be as follows:
1 Arrive in Kilimanjaro airport, pick up and transfer to Karama Lodge; overnight Karama Lodge.
2 Full day game wildlife activities inside Arusha National Park, morning hiking and picnic in the forest, afternoon canoe safari. Overnight in lightweight camp in a campsite on the forests on the slopes of Mount Meru.
3 Morning transfer to Lake Manyara. Village walk or bike ride in the area ending in a local lunch. Afternoon game drive in to Lake Manyara NP. Overnight in Endabash Campsite in light weight camp.
4 Full day game viewing inside the National Park. Overnight back in the same campsite.
5 Late Morning departure for Karatu, afternoon at leisure, overnight in Bougainvillea Lodge.
6 Full day game viewing in the Ngorongoro Crater. Overnight back in Bougainvillea Lodge.
7 Transfer from Karatu in to the Serengeti National Park. Game drive the entire day and overnight in Ndutu Safari Lodge.
8 Game drive to the Serengeti Walking area, afternoon walking and overnight in Wayo lightweight camp.
9 Full day walking in the Serengeti, overnight in the same camp.
10 Full day walking in the Serengeti, overnight in the same camp.
11 Depart from Serengeti to Kilimanjaro on a morning scheduled flight, dayroom in KIA lodge with dinner and depart on KLM at 20:30.
