Many different ways of getting your wildlife hit from boat to game-drives. walks and great photographic opportunities from the hides.

Duma Tau - "roar of the lion" is located between the elephant-rich Linyanti Marsh and the source of the Savuti Channel. This is a classic camp with luxury tents set on polished wood platforms and elegantly decorated.  With a calming view across the large lagoon in front of the camp, Duma Tau is one of only three camps in this vast 125,000ha conservancy which has the most exceptional game.

Elephant viewing, especially in winter, is excellent as is the chance of seeing large numbers of hippo in the channel. Lion, cheetah and wild dog are all regularly sighted.  Wildlife congregates around the various water sources and the camp offers both game drives and boat activities as well as guided walks so there is a whole range of possibilities for those that wish to explore this exclusive area.

The camp can organise bush dinners upon request so you can dine under the stars while listening to the noises of the African night. The camp also has access to hides; especially good for birders or those that want to sit quietly and watch wildlife emerge undisturbed from the thickets to drink or feed. This makes a pleasant change for the car-weary traveller and it is often just as enchanting to sit and watch a shy sitatunga emerge tentatively from the reeds, ears twitching, with careful steps, as it is to encounter lions while out on a drive.

Linyanti

The Linyanti Wildlife Reserve is a private concession on the western boundary of the Chobe National Park, with the Linyanti River to the north, on the border with Namibia's Caprivi Strip.  Consisting of 125,000 hectares of flood plaines, marshes, grassland and forests, the Linyanti Reserves plays home to a large variety of wildlife, particularly large populations of elephant which migrate toward the lush plains of the river in the dry winter months (May - June) and remain until the rains in November or December. Botswana

Safaris in Botswana offer dramatic extremes.  One the one hand, the lush landscapes of the Okavango Delta and the Linyanti/Chobe River systems, on the other, the beautiful other-worldly expanse of the Makgadikgadi Pans and the Kalahari Desert.  The variety of habitats makes for varied animal and birdlife as well as beautiful scenery.   Strict controls mean that Botswana safari camps and lodges are generally small, and due to the tricky logistics of operating in a delta or a desert, a safari here is seldom cheap, and it's important to know where to go if you are looking for that authentic safari experience.
