Xugana occupies a wooded promontory almost surrounded by an expansive lagoon, and is sited within a private concession to the north of the delta that remains permanently flooded all year round.
Neatly built with simple, uncomplicated décor and making full use of the beautiful view across the water to the reedbeds, the camp is a calm and peaceful place. It is unsurprising that activities are concentrated on the water, from which game viewing, bird watching and fishing are conducted in either open motor-boats or dug-out mokoros. Walking on the surrounding islands also gives guests an opportunity to casually indulge their interest in some of the smaller wildlife and plants that comprise the Delta.
The camp is relaxed and informal and ideal for people who enjoy nature ungarnished but who still take pleasure in a reasonable level of comfort and amenity without extravagance.
