A comfortable, yet simple place with the greatest advantage being it's great location and isolation
Duba Plains is an intimate camp on a private 30,000 ha concession, in the far north west of the Delta, where it starts to spread.
The rooms are tented in the loosest sense of the word, and are immaculately furnished and equipped. The camp commands stunning views over the plains and the open fronted dining room gives a very pleasant feeling of being a part of the landscape.
Activities here are primarily land-based, and the area affords regular sightings of lion, elephant, huge herds of buffalo and the rare aardwolf along with a large variety of other herbivores and birdlife. When water-levels allow, there is the opportunity to explore by dug-out. For those that want to be sure not to see another car or tourist, this is where you want to be.

The Okavango Delta is the largest inland Delta in the world and is incomparable to any other game destination in Africa. A vast spread of channels, lagoons, forests and reed islands spreads across northern Botswana and disappears into the sands of the Kalahari. As you can imagine, birdlife is amazing here and game viewing too is very special; not only because of the variety and number of animals but also because you can do a great deal by boat, giving a totally different perspective to the traditional bumpy, dusty game drives. Botswana safaris offer dramatic extremes. On the one hand, the lush landscapes of the Okavango Delta and the Linyanti and Chobe River systems, on the other, the beautiful other-worldly expanse of the Makgadikgadi Pans and the Kalahari Desert. The variety of habitats makes for varied animal and birdlife as well as beautiful scenery. Strict controls mean that Botswana safari camps and lodges are generally small, and due to the tricky logistics of operating in a delta or a desert, safaris in Botswana are seldom cheap. There are however many excellent options to consider. Top of the list in our opinion are some of Botswana's mobile safari camps, these come in a couple of basic shapes, both of which are aimed at giving you a private experience using private campsites in quiet remote locations.
