Xudum (pronounced 'K-dum') is a fresh departure in Delta lodges. A great deal of effort has been invested in creating a destination within a destination (so to speak). The lodge has been built to indulge and entertain so that you can enjoy the Okavango without actually needing to go anywhere if you don't want to. The suites are built with a novel upper deck from which you can watch the wildlife or enjoy a private dinner. While there is no main pool, each suite has a private plunge pool, so no worries there. Indoor and outdoor bathrooms mean you have a choice if nature if calls ('scuse the pun). Another interesting diversion is the open or "interactive" kitchen where you can see your meals being prepared if culinary excitement is your thing.
Should you actually summon up the will power to leave all this loveliness, it goes without saying that there is also plenty to do out and about. Within the private 25,000 hectare concession, which includes permanent channels, you can enjoy dugout mokoro trips, morning and night game drives and informative bush walks. The emphasis here is on a slower pace and a succulent indulgence of the wrap-around experience.
As with all good things, Xudum comes at a price so be prepared to dig a little deeper for this little stay in paradise.

The Okavango Delta is the largest inland Delta in the world and is incomparable to any other game destination in Africa. A vast spread of channels, lagoons, forests and reed islands spreads across northern Botswana and disappears into the sands of the Kalahari. As you can imagine, birdlife is amazing here and game viewing too is very special; not only because of the variety and number of animals but also because you can do a great deal by boat, giving a totally different perspective to the traditional bumpy, dusty game drives.
