Centrally located in a quiet corner of New Delhi and not far from historical places of interest The Claridges opened in the 1950’s and has a vaguely colonial atmosphere with art deco features in the public areas. It’s no relation to Claridges in London, but is a decent enough 4 star hotel and well-situated for sight seeing and access to the Delhi Metro.

The low-rise building, with just three floors, has some of the most spacious accommodation in Delhi with 138 rooms overlooking the swimming pool, landscaped gardens and diplomatic avenue. The rooms are classically styled and furnished, with Italian marble finished bathrooms and a good range of in-room facilities. There is a choice of restaurants both inside and out. Dhaba, created in the style of a trucker’s café, serves delicious north Indian cuisine such as tandoori kebabs and balti dishes that are popular with locals.
