Perched on a ridge in the Kumaon Himalaya, 360' Leti is surrounded by stunning scenery

This Himalayan mountain lodge is perched high on a ridge and surrounded on all sides by stunning scenery of the Kumaon Himalaya. This is a true escape perfect for chilling out and getting back to nature, but all with a touch of understated luxury.

Situated at over 2400m, 360’ Leti sits on promontory almost in the middle of nowhere. When the lodge was first constructed in 2007, of local stone, wood and glass, it was an hour’s walk to the nearest road and there were no modern communication links with the outside world. With India’s speedy development there’s a rough jeep road just 100m away and mobile reception is now available, but it is still very isolated.

There are just four cottages, fronted on two sides by floor to ceiling windows to let in those panoramic views which can be enjoyed from the comfort of your bed. Fire pits on the terraces, hot water bottles and wood burning stoves keep you warm on chilly evenings and nights.

The glass fronted dining room enjoys further spectacular views and the adjoining sitting room has a cosy fireplace. The lovely staff, many of whom come from the local community provides an attentive but discrete service and is always on hand to assist.

Activities available include fantastic walking and trekking in the hills beneath one of the most impressive mountain ranges in the world and star gazing in wonderfully clear night skies. Yoga and meditation can also be arranged on request. It’s a great place for families and the staff can organise a visit to a local school if you are interested
