Although in a slightly unlikely location, the Palacina has succeeded in creating a chic, well-appointed property. Stylish and with good facilities and a consistently good restaurant, the property is a safe and comfortable choice.
It is a 'boutique' contemporary concept, so don't expect something steeped in history or the charm of some of the other smaller properties to be found around the outskirts of Nairobi, but it is well-run and a good option for people that prefer efficiency over quirkiness.

Surrounding Nairobi City itself is a varied landscape. To the west, the landscape is arid with wide grassy plains and acacia scrub. To the south, the Ngong Hills mark the boundary to the Great Rift Valley, providing a dramatic vantage point and some interesting scenery. To the north and west, the land slopes steadily up to an altitude of 7,000ft where cypress forests and bright green tea farms roll over gentle hills.
