When Dawn and Francis Boys-Stone bought 3.5 acres of land in 2002, about 8 miles outside of the Medina in the Moroccan countryside with breathtaking winter views of the snow-capped Atlas mountains, they little knew the labour of love they had taken on.

Two and half years later, Villas Fawakay was born.  Three painstakingly designed villas are the result, each can be booked exclusively and designed to be as private or as social as you wish.  There are many private features within each villa, you need never see another living soul for the length of your stay.  The Boys-Stone live on site with their 4 children and multiple dogs and cats and take a very hands-on approach to the day to day running.

From the moment you pass through the gates of Villas Fawakay, you are transported to a paradise of lush gardens where peacocks wander amongst the palm and olive trees. The scent of petals from the rose garden lingers on the breeze, the pool glistens in the sunlight and the cool interior of your villa awaits you.

Each individually-styled villa is equipped with everything you need for a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Bask in your own private plunge pool, laze on your personal terrace or enjoy a daydream in the comfort of your Moroccan summerhouse at the foot of your private garden. Bathe in the gleaming swimming pool, have a relaxing tipple or two in the bar pool, play a game of tennis on the private court or unwind with a massage in the beauty salon. A stay here can also be combined with the private riad in the medina, Riad Fawakay.

The complex is made up of three private and individual villas. One two bedroomed, and two 6+ bedroomed.

Staff are happy to serve meals wherever you please. Whether you would like to have a long and lazy breakfast outside your bedroom on your roof terrace, take lunch by the pool, host your own private dinner party in your dining room or have afternoon tea in your summerhouse, the choice is yours.

Bouchera is the talented chef and will cook to order.  A children's menu is always available as well.  Evening canapes come as standard, every day of your stay.

Cooking lessons are often one of the highlights of a stay here. Bouchera has menus from which one can decide a menu to cook and then herbs and vegetables are picked from the garden near the villas.

Marrakech

Few cities can be as beautifully sited as Marrakech. The surrounding land is watered by abundant rivers and streams from the Atlas Mountains, which provide a spectacular backdrop as they rise some 12,000ft. In the summer months, the heights are often lost behind a heat haze, but the winter visitor has the best of it, for then the peaks are covered in snow, always a beguiling sight in Africa. Read more?

Morocco

Morocco is a country of immense and diverse physical beauty, with some of the most inspiring areas of pristine wilderness in Africa. It's also superb value and just a few short hours flight from the UK.  From the snow-capped peaks of the High Atlas to its wave-strafed Atlantic coastline and on south to the billowing, seemingly endless sand dunes that run away into the Sahara Desert.  For a country so close to Europe it’s exhilarating to find such an intact culture and epic North African landscape with real contrast to anything European at almost every turn. Leave Marrakesh and head south and in less than an hour you’re climbing into the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains.  This is magnificent trekking country where you can thread your way among small Berber villages, supported by mule trains, either on foot or on horseback, supported with a light tented campRead more?
