From just south of Windhoek to just south of Etosha, runs a series of low hills amongst scrubby bush. Once expansive cattle ranches, much of this area has now turned to game farming and tourism. Large family-run ranches accommodate small lodges or guest farms where you will meet some interesting people who have a long history in Namibia. Activities are mainly planned around walks or game drives or possibly visits to local points of interest such as rock paintings, natural geological features and the like.
Including one of these guest farms in a driving safari can help break up long days on the road and give you a different perspective on Namibia.
