A far-flung camp in the heart of the Namib's spectacular desert scenery

Top of the Wolwedans range of camps, Boulders is located in the far south of this private piece of the Namib. Where the location of the other camps has been chosen for the sinuous curves of the sand-dunes, Boulders is aligned with the NamibRands other, harder, granite landscape. The space and quiet in this part of the world is hard to describe. The views are so great that it is hard to judge scale and perspective.

Boulders has just four tented rooms and a great big chunk of wilderness for you to explore. The camp offers nature drives and walking trails which will introduce you to some of the Namib’s unique desert creatures. While you shouldn’t come here expecting lots of big game, you will probably see oryx, zebra, springbok and ostrich. For birders, there are a few endemic species here including the dune lark and you will wake in the morning to the piping calls of namaqua sandgrouse.

The Wolwedans properties offer exceptional service, excellent food and camps which are designed to make the most of the real asset here – space. If all you do here is gaze around you, you will come away with an experience you are unlikely to forget.
