Exclusive and remote game & camping experience

Guide Price: From: $450 To: $730

The Serengeti Wilderness Mobile camp is a private tented camp that moves with you in the middle of one of the best game areas in the world. This little camp, private, simple in design and unassuming quite simply offers one of the richest safari experiences available. There are few props here; no spas, TVs or archery on offer, and the camp relies on those illusive, but definitive ingredients; superb service and guiding, total privacy and  - most importantly - front row seats at a private wilderness experience startlingly at odds with anything you'll experience in the course of your daily life.

Without a doubt the most exclusive way to experience the Greater Serengeti at your own pace, whether game driving, on a walking safari or a combination of both. These camps give you real flexibility, allowing you to move every couple of days, and we actually think this is the best way to see Serengeti National Park, Loliondo and the Ngorongoro Crater and Highlands.

The tents are slightly smaller than Nomad's Serengeti Safari Camp, but still large walk-in ones, the beds are camp beds and the loos are outside instead of being ensuite, but what you gain is fantastic. The camp is private. Just for you. And though you may think this sounds excessive, there is nothing like coming back to your own camp, run by a small professional crew to find hot showers are waiting for you, followed by drinks around the fire and properly good food - a three course meal in the camp's mess tent or better still under the stars - you decide.

It has all the elements that ensure that you are comfortable - great food, cold drinks, impeccable service, but it's designed to be lightweight enough to be moved every couple of days. The camp crew seriously know what they are doing, they're great people with whom you'll build up a rapport over your safari and their enthusiasm and professionalism are a great mix that adds enormously to the pleasure of the experience.

The camps get you away from most other tourists to a point where you can still feel the soul of the Serengeti. The migration is without a doubt mind blowing and absolutely not to be missed, but it's a real mistake not to see more of the Serengeti than just the area where the wildebeest happen to be.

These camps give you the flexibility not only to make sure you are camped within striking range of where the migration is, but also to explore different parts of the park. Add to this the fact that most people don't do this and you quickly realise that much of the Serengeti is virtually empty (of tourists not game) when the wildebeest have moved on.

Northern Tanzania overview

Northern Tanzania is the best known region of Tanzania and the easiest place to quickly see large amounts of animals.  With sensational school-boy geography on show all around (the Rift Valley escarpment, Soda lakes, the Ngorongoro Crater  and Highlands and the Serengeti plains) it’s massively rewarding to explore over a week or so with a private vehicle and guide.
