Katuma Katavi tented camp is right in the centre of the Katavi National park. The camp is on a raised area of ground and from there you have fantastic views fo the Katisunga plains in front of you, which are a rich source of herds of animals constantly in search of food and water, especially during the dry season.

There are 6 enormous tents with circular thatched roofs, each on raised wooden platforms, extended out towards the plains, giving you plently of space to sit and relax. The tents are well spaced out, which gives you a bit more privacy and the interiors have been well thought out and are simple but elegant.

Katavi National Park

Katavi National Park is remote, undeveloped and, at certain times of year, bristling with big wild animals. Until just a few years ago Chada Camp was the only place to stay and it was very little visited with the only access being via one of two little planes that ground their way between here and Arusha (one flown by the then owner of Chada, Roland Purcell, and the other by Alex in pre Natural High days).
