Lukuba is a small island in Lake Victoria about 13 miles from Musoma on the eastern shore of the lake. Apart from small traditional villages this island has one good quality tourist camp from which its possible to fish, birdwatch and generally explore the place. Distinguished by the many granite monoliths that make up this island, there is great birdlife as well as small mammals including spotted neck otters, monitor lizards & vervet monkeys which are commonly seen.

A 45 minute boat ride from Musoma, Lukuba is an excellent opportunity to sample traditional Lake Victoria life whilst fishing or simply relaxing. A stay of a couple of nights offers diversity and a good change of pace within a northern Tanzania safari.
