Mikumi Foxes Safari Camp sits in a prime position right on the Mkapa plains. This is a good location for Mikumi's resident game, which is drawn in to drink at the Mwanambogo waterhole. Mikumi National Park lies on the northern boundary of the Selous Game Reserve and subsequently shares much of the game from this area. The camp has 8 tents set on wooden platforms. As with the rest of the Foxes camps, the tents are very modestly furnished, but they are clean, tidy and comfortable. These camps are patently not pretending to be luxury, but are great places to stay if your game viewing is important, you'd like to be in a good location and you don't need to be pampered. The rooms have hot and cold running water, as well as plug sockets for charging your batteries.

Mikumi National Park

Say Mikumi and it’s hard not to think of the arterial road (and the massive video coaches driven by maniacal drivers on their way between Dar es Salaam and Mbeya) that slices its way through the park. Of course this is to belittle the park and there’s more to it than just road kill. Read more?

Tanzania safaris rival a safari any other country in Africa in terms of sheer wilderness, formidable landscapes and volume of wildlife.  At Natural High, we have travelled all over the country, worked in some of its best Tanzania safari camps and lodges and flown all over as bush pilots so we feel qualified to venture such opinions.
