Some good game viewing & walking in quieter area of Ruaha

Guide Price: From: $280 To: $280

Mdonya River Camp is one of the newest camps in the Ruaha, situated close to the waterfall from which it takes its name and away from the more popular Msembe area. Having been a bit of a wildlife desert, this area has settled down a lot over the past few years and can happily lay claim to decent game in the area generally and particularly in and around the camp itself.

A sister camp to {Selous Impala Camp}, its slightly more upmarket counterpart in the {Selous}, Mdonya retains the same strong Italian influence from its owners and prides itself on providing a more raw, 'back to basics' bush camp feel.

The 11 tents are large, built on wooden platforms and comfortable with ensuite bathrooms whilst definitely on the basic side, decorated with the odd feather and seed pod and lit with simple candles and kerosene lanterns.

With the increasing volume and confidence of game in this area, you do need to keep a watchful eye out all the time and you will be escorted to and from your tents as an encouraging safety measure. This camp won't appeal to people looking for frills and pampering but will attract a younger more adventurous crowd for whom cost and value are important.
