Game drives, boating, some walking

Guide Price: From: $345 To: $375

Rufifi River camp, similar to Impala camp, is high up on a bank above the Rufiji River. Somewhat larger than many of its neighbours, camp has 20 thatched tents which all have river views, however, they are quite close together which sometimes intrudes on your privacy.

Like many of the other camps in the area, there is lots to do here, including boating, although due to its location it is ulikely that you would reach Steiglers Gorge since it is often too far, however there are many other chanels to explore and lots of fishing to be done. Rufiji is Run by an Italian owner, Luigi and it is well organised, unpretentious and relaxed. It is a cheaper option to Selous Safari Camp and Sandrivers and is comparable to Impala camp, although at times it can be a lot busier and not quite so quiet.

Selous Game Reserve

Vast remote and wild, the Selous is the largest game reserve in Africa and a dramatic contrast to other parks in Tanzania in almost every way. It’s one of Tanzania's lesser known destinations, but offers a grass roots level of experience that few other places can equal.  It's also home to an intriguing diversity both in terms of animal life and variety of experience on offer.
