Selous Wilderness Camp is a new camp on the banks of the Rufiji River about 30 minutes from the Mtemere Airstrip which includes a road and boat transfer to get to the actual camp.   It is a small camp with 7 rooms all spaced well apart for privacy.   The rooms are tented on platforms with Makuti thatched roofs.  The rooms include a family room and a honeymoon suite.   The managers, Richard and Natasha are both guides themselves and have been runing lodges and hotels for many years so really know how to look after you and particular attention is paid to the food.    You can do all the usual game viewing from the camp which includes walking, boating and viewing in open top vehicles.   Being new the camp needs to settle into it's surroundings, but it is also very good value for money and you will be extremely well looked after.

Selous Game Reserve

Vast remote and wild, the Selous is the largest game reserve in Africa and a dramatic contrast to other parks in Tanzania in almost every way. It’s one of Tanzania's lesser known destinations, but offers a grass roots level of experience that few other places can equal.  It's also home to an intriguing diversity both in terms of animal life and variety of experience on offer.
