Guide Price: From: $730 To: $845

Tarangire Treetops Lodge is located in a community conservation area to the east if Tarangire National Park. Each of the 20 treehouses are built on stilts around large baobab trees and from most of them you views over the surrounding bush.

This isn't somewhere with particularly striking natural views, but the design of the camp, built into the trees, does make the most of the location. As a result Treetops has something of a bush-camp feel, with the interiors of the rooms simply, but well done; furniture is deliberatley sparce with directors chairs and small tables creating an impression of uncomplicated elegance. The rooms are very large and the suites are quite open plan, making them quite 'intimate' as far as the bathrooms as concerned, so if privacy in this department is key for you, then bare this in mind. The staff here are all extremely friendly and welcoming and you are very well looked after.

Our only negative point, is that Treetops is about 45 mins drive from the park gate; but since the National Park has no fences you are more than likely to see large herds of animals outside the park boundary; so whilst it is a long drive to get into the National Park proper, that doesn't mean there's no game to see on the way.

Tarangire Lokisale

Lokisale game controlled area runs along the eastern boundary of Tarangire National Park and hosts decent quantities of game through many months of the year. Most particularly during the the green months (October to May) as animals move east across the Maasai Steppe, free from dependence on the permanent water of the Tarangire river as soon as the rains bring grass and water to these eastern plains. However, even through the dry season this area allows the combination of easy access to the National Park, through the eastern Boundary Hill gate, with freedom from the rigid rules that prevail within the park itself. Tanzania safaris rival a safari any other country in Africa in terms of sheer wilderness, formidable landscapes and volume of wildlife.  At Natural High, we have travelled all over the country, worked in some of its best Tanzania safari camps and lodges and flown all over as bush pilots so we feel qualified to venture such opinions.
