Guide Price: From: $450 To: $740

Nduara Loliondo is a first class small safari camp offering game drives, walking safaris and night drives in Loliondo. It's designed to make the most of the freedom that Loliondo (part of the Serengeti ecosystem, but not under jurisdiction of National Parks) offers. Loliondo is a Maasai community area, so safari walks accompanied by Maasai Morani add a fascinating cultural dimension to the experience.

Nduara is moved seasonally between the north of the ecosystem and the south. In each location it has a partnership with a small Maasai community who benefit directly from visitors to the camp. In the north, between mid June and December, the camp is in Ololosokwan, which lies in amongst the large hills to the north of Lobo. For the other half of the year, the camp has a similar arrangement with Piyaya, which is close to the Gol Mountains and Sanjan Gorge further south. Moves are timed to coincide with the wildebeest migration as it moves between its northern and southern ranges.

Nduara Loliondo works well in conjunction with its sister camps in the Serengeti National Park like Nomad's Serengeti Mara (August to October) and Nomad's Serengeti Ndutu (December to March).  Game viewing is good throughout the year and as well as game drives and walks, Loliondo is one of the few parts of northern Tanzania where you will be able to do night drives. Loliondo is somewhere you should come if you don't want to be in the company of lots of other tourists and like the idea of seeing more than a single side to the Serengeti.

The game viewing was wonderful at Serengeti and we were amazed by what we saw – on the final evening drive a leopard in a tree came down as he heard the distress call of a dik dik being attacked by a cobra - The leopard was going for the cobra but darkness fell and we had to return to camp so never knew the outcome!

CJ December 2011

We have now returned from our wonderful holiday in Tanzania and would like to thank Natural High Safaris for the excellent organization of this safari. Everything worked like a treat, there were always people to meet us on arrival in each stop and everything that we had read and been told about at each place, was as described.

We had a terrific time. Observing animals all day is really, really fun. The guides were fantastic and we met great people all around.

The Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti is the best known safari destination in the world with good reason. Even if you exclude the Wildebeest Migration with its 1.5 million odd animals, the proliferation of animal life in the Serengeti defies belief.   In the company of a good guide, this can be like stepping into a wildlife documentary.  We’d advocate building your safari in northern Tanzania around the greater Serengeti, but you do need to be aware that being in the right place at the right time is everything in this neck of the woods. Find out when the Serengeti Wildebeest Migration happens. Read more?

Tanzania

Tanzania safaris rival a safari any other country in Africa in terms of sheer wilderness, formidable landscapes and volume of wildlife.  At Natural High, we have travelled all over the country, worked in some of its best Tanzania safari camps and lodges and flown all over as bush pilots so we feel qualified to venture such opinions.
