Entebbe

Entebbe is a charming lakeside town, very lush with massive trees and the old colonial gardens and parks with the lake in the background make for a serene atmosphere.

Since the town is where Uganda's main airport is located (rathat than Kampala), it makes perfect sense to stay here if you are heading off the next morning to the south and west of the country to visit the gorillas or indeed on your return to avoid a very early morning transfer to your flight out.

A day or overnight visit to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary is a worthwhile experience.
