Jinja is where the River Nile starts it’s epic journey north.
The main attractions here centre around the river and provide a mini-Victoria Falls time experience. There's grade 4 & 5 rapids for white river rafting, which fortunately won't be impacted too much by the planned Bujagali Dam. We're assured that equally good rafting will be on offer below the dam once it reaches completion.
There is also a wonderful river journey for the whole family which drifts swiftly between beautiful forested islands, bounces down smaller rapids and explores the lesser known channels of the river.
If you haven't had your fill of excitement, you can always go bungee jumping. The 44m tower provides sensational views above the source of the Nile, which a troop of vervet monkeys have taken to enjoying when no fools are throwing themselves off.
