Set departure mobile walking safaris with game/night drives at main camps

Robin Pope Safaris have some of the best walking mobile safaris in the Luangwa.  Experienced and knowledgeable guides lead these group walking safaris in the far north of the South Luangwa Park.   As you walk, the camp is relocated so that on arrival, your camp is set up and a hot shower waiting.

The walking mobile safaris have come to be known as the wilderness experience of the South Luangwa. After two nights at Nkwali, the party of no more than 6, walks for 5 days covering a leisurely 10 km a day, following the Mupamadzi River, a major tributary of the Luangwa.

The area is remote and wild, the terrain and habitats varied and the game shy and unused to man.  From ants to buffalo, a bird's nest to tracking a lion, you get to experience the many facets of the bush. The fully serviced mobile camp is extremely comfortable and well equipped with walk-in tents and full bedding. The shower is under a tree and the toilet is a long drop with a wooden throne. Meals of a high standard are served under the open sky. A final three nights at Tena Tena completes the safari.

South Luangwa National Park

The Luangwa Valley is probably Zambia's best known wildlife area. As well as having very good all-round game, Luangwa is somewhere that has gained a well deserved reputation for walking safaris, though there is a great deal more to do above and beyond. The park consists of large amounts of woodland; miombo interspersed with grass lands in the north of the park and large stands of mature ebony forming deep shade along the banks of the river.
