Combining a safari with a visit to Victoria Falls
Victoria Falls lies between Zambia and Zimbabwe but is actually very close to both Botswana and Namibia too. If you are doing a safari in any of these countries, it is normally possible to include a couple of days at Victoria Falls.
International flights can be booked directly to Victoria Falls Airport, Zimbabwe or Livingstone Airport in Zambia, where there are a range of accommodation options. You can either start or end your safari in here (depending on how your itinerary works out). It is possible to travel by road between Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia from Victoria Falls. In fact, you can even walk from Zambia to Zimbabwe (and vice versa) to get a different view of the Falls and enjoy the variety of activities on offer on either side.
Aside from the scenic walk along the edge of the falls (where getting wet is all part of the experience), you can also white-water raft the gorge, bungy jump (if you have completely lost your marbles), take a helicopter flight, enjoy a lazy Zambezi sunset cruise, and even soak in a calm pool right at the point where the water changes direction from calmly horizontal to thunderously vertical. Depending on how keen you are to do these things, you should allow a minimum of two nights in Victoria Falls (on the Zimbabwean side) or Livingstone (on the Zambian side).
If you would like to include the Falls, make sure you let us know so that we can take it into account when putting a safari together for you.
