FAQs
Kenya - visas and vaccinations
Vaccinations
You'll need to discuss the up to date medical recommendations for Kenya with your doctor, but the following boosters are recommended: hepatitis A, typhoid and diphtheria The following vaccinations are sometimes recommended tuberculosis, meningococcal meningitis, hepatitis B, poliomyelitis and rabies.
We've been informed that Yellow Fever is NO LONGER compulsory for entry into Kenya, unless you are arriving from a country where it is endemic. Bear in mind that if you're travelling to Kenya Tanzania this would mean you would need the Yellow Fever jab. Please ensure that your vaccinations are up to date as per your doctors instructions.
Visas
You will need a visa for traveling to Kenya. The cost of the visa is currently the equivalent of US$50. Visas can be obtained on arrival in Kenya, but we would normally recommend that you buy your visa in advance to avoid lengthy delays on arrival. Details and visa forms can be downloaded from www.kenyahighcommission.net Please note that visas are only valid for 3 months (so don’t buy them too soon) and that passports must have validity of more than 6 months after your return date.
