FAQs

What activities are there in Zambia?

Zambia as a destination is ideal for those who want to be active and really immerse themselves in the bush.  It is predominantely famous for its walking safaris BUT there are a host of other activities available too.

The National Parks in Zambia have different rules to those in East Africa so that as well as walking, you can do game drives and night drives in all the parks.  It is also possible to microlite and bicycle in concession areas adjacent to the South Luangwa. In Kafue, hot-air ballooning has recently been introduced and this is a memorable way to see this remote area.

Canoeing and boat safaris as well as fishing are a big feature of the Lower Zambezi National Park as well as the South Luangwa in the emerald season.

Zambian operators also are great supporters and promoters of the local community and do encourage visits to local towns and schools.

Livingstone and the Victoria Falls are ideal for the adrenalin junky.  You can white water raft below the Victoria Falls on some of the best white water in the world.  You can bungie jump off the bridge just below the Falls.  You can microlite or do helicopter trips over the falls and up the gorge. You can do canoeing and boat trips, horse ride,  have an elephant back safari, game view by vehicle and on foot and do cultural trips.  When the Zambezi is low you can swim from Livingstone Island, just above the Victoria Falls.   You can cross over into Zimbabwe and “walk with lionsÇ??.   Oh and of course you can visit the Victoria Falls, a very wet experience especially after the rains!
