Good quality tented lodge on the eastern edge of Tarangire. Easy access to Tarangire and well placed for walking safaris outside the main park.
Kikoti camp is one of a few camps set in the community conservation area just outside the boundary hill gate on the eastern side of Tarangire National Park. It's easily accessed from Arusha and is around 1 hour from the main gate of Tarangire National Park (which is the one you must access the park by).
The camp has 10 large ensuite tents set up high on platforms with good views over the local area. Each room has solar powered electricity converted to 240 Vac. The main mess and dining are is open sided with large shady thatched roves and the interior is decorated with carvings of all shapes and sizes on most available spaces.
Kikoti is well placed for the migration of plains game into Tarangire at the beginning of the dry season (July) and out again at the end (Nov). At these times there can be quite a bit to see in the local area. Being outside the National Park in a community conservation area there are a number for benefits such as walks lead by Maasai rangers and night drives. This is also a good place from which to visit the local communities with which the camp works.
