This small tented camp is a great example of a well-run, owner-operated camp. Kisima Ngeda's set in the shade of a grove of doum palms, on the eastern shore of Lake Eyasi, with magnificent views across the soda lake to the 3000 ft escarpment on the other side.
Kisima Ngeda belongs to Chris and Nani Schmelling, who have been farming in the area for many years, and is supplied at least in part by the superb food - including smoked tilapia fillet and black forest smoked ham -that they themselves produce on the farm. The location of this camp is scenically stunning with great views to the north of the Ngorongoro Crater and Highlands with Lemagrut and Ol Deani mountains (both extinct volcanoes and close to 10,000 ft) in the foreground.
