Loliondo Safari Camp has recently undergone a refurbishment and has emerged looking somewhat different - Mongolian Yurts somewhat surprisingly replacing safari tents - and bearing a shiny new name; “Nduara Loliondo”. Rest assured though that the change in style of accommodation hasn't effected the really very traditional quality of experience that this camp offers.

Nduara Loliondo Camp, along with the Serengeti Safari Camp, is the most popular location we use in northern Tanzania and it's easy to see why. The fact that it's so small, taking a maximum of only 12 guests at a time, means that the level of service the staff can provide is exceptional by any standards. In all things - food, service and equipment, the focus at Loliondo Camp is on quality and attention to detail.

The Yurts -

Nduara Loliondo still has 6 tents (now yurts), the same as the original Loliondo Safari Camp. There is a dining yurt and a separate
library. Each accommodation yurt has it's own en-suite
bathroom - attached to the back of the main sleeping area -
with traditional safari bucket showers and short drop toilets. The yurts have been designed to be as cool as possible during the day, and have wrap-around shade net windows with flaps that can be rolled up or down. There is also a traditional open ‘wheel' in the centre of the roof but there is a canvas cap that covers the wheel at night, or in bad weather.

Though staying at Loliondo Camp is a million miles from what most people think of as camping, Nomad have created a superbly authentic experience so you really can enjoy the un-spoilt nature of Loliondo, far from most other tourists, without having to endure any of the hardships.
