As the southern plains begin to dry up towards the end of May, the wildebeest begin to leave their southern range and head north. This time coincides with the rut and takes the herds through Moru Kopjes in the southwestern Serengeti. Moru Seasonal Safari camp is not only a good location from which to see the migration at this time of year, but somewhere to see very good resident game, most particularly cats - lion, leopard and even the smaller cats like Caracal - for which this area is known.

The safari camp caters for only 8 people at a time and you'll have a private vehicle and safari guide as standard throughout your stay. For further detail on this camp see Nomad's Serengeti Safari Camp. Here you'll find a detailed accommodation description as well as photos and further information about the activities available at the camp.

Seasonal moves - the seasonal safari camps move around the Serengeti shadowing the wildebeest migration. Timing depends on weather for that particular year, but is roughly as follows:

December - March. Ndutu in the southern Serengeti
April - May. Moru in the southwestern Serengeti.
June - July. Serengeti Western Corridor
August - November Northern Serengeti
