Accommodation at Mwagusi Safari Camp is in large safari tents

under very tall thatched roofs, which provide shade and protection from the heat of the day. The tents are large and spacious with comfortable beds, sheets and blankets. They are all built facing out onto the Mwagusi channel and all have large individually designed ensuite bathrooms and private balconies with simple but attractive furnishings.

Mwagusi Safari Camp has very much its own style

with some excellent boy scout style innovations and much use made of local materials - for example one of the bathrooms has most of a giraffe skeleton built into the wall. Hot water is provided via a 200 litre drum set into the roof with a shower head on the bottom of it - and you'd be hard pushed to find a better shower.

The main bar and dining areas at Mwagusi are thatched,

with comfortable sitting out areas and great views onto a patch of surface water that attracts plenty of game, so there are nearly always animals to look at. One of the best things about Mwagusi is eating in the open air at night. The dining table is laid in the bed of the dry sand river and drinks are served around a blazing camp fire under the steep river bank. Its hard to beat having a three course dinner with the African night sky above you. You quite simply couldn't design a better dining room
