Safari Tent Service Camp Chairs

This is the most popular camp we use in northern Tanzania and it's easy to see why. The fact that it is so small, taking a maximum of only 8 guests at one time, means that the level of service the staff can provide is exceptional by any standards. In all things - food, service and equipment, the focus is on quality and attention to detail.

The camp is discreet and provides just the right level of comfort to complement the awesome natural surroundings. The en suite tent is a luxurious room under canvas and the bed is both large (6ft 7inches) and incredibly comfortable - at night you'll even find a hot water bottle in the cold months. At the back of the tent is an en suite bathroom where you'll find hot showers waiting when you return from the bush. Though staying here is a million miles from what most people think of as camping, Nomad have created a superbly authentic - and particularly east African - experience so you really can enjoy being in the middle of the bush, far from most other tourists, without having to endure any of the hardships.

The nitty gritty - The 'Selous' sleeping tents are 8ft high with an 18x12ft floor area, have spacious ensuite bathrooms and are completely enclosed against insects. They are beautifully appointed and decorated with local fabrics and artifacts. Each contains comfortable 6'7" beds (complete with high-density mattresses and the best available duvets, blankets & linens), dressing tables, safari wardrobe (with hanging & shelf space), luggage racks and safari chairs. They each have bright rechargeable lights as well as a number of traditional hurricane lamps. At the front there is a large verandah with a table and safari chairs whilst at the back the en-suite bathroom incorporates hot & cold water, a 'short-drop' safari toilet and traditional 'safari shower'. There is a complimentary daily laundry service (weather permitting).

The focus of the camp is a large dining tent with a shaded 'sitting out' area. As well as a fully-stocked complimentary bar with a selection of spirits, wines, beers and ice, there is a small reference library of African books and a variety of games.
