When the wildebeest migration leaves the western corridor it heads to the Mara River and out of the reach of most permanent safari camps in the Serengeti. The Northern Serengeti Camp locates in either northwestern Serengeti or Northeastern Serengeti both of which are within game driving distance of the Mara River. It is here that the action is likely to be at its best between August and late October as the wildebeest cross backwards and forwards between Kenya and Tanzania in response to local rain showers (and only they know what else).
The safari camp caters for only 8 people at a time and you'll have a private vehicle and safari guide as standard throughout your stay. For further detail on this camp see Nomad's Serengeti Safari Camp. Here you'll find a detailed accommodation description as well as photos and further information about the safari activities available at the camp.
Seasonal moves - the seasonal camps move around the Serengeti shadowing the wildebeest migration. Timing depends on weather for that particular year, but is roughly as follows:
December - March. Ndutu in the southern Serengeti
April - May. Moru in the southwestern Serengeti
June - July. Serengeti Western Corridor
August - November Northern Serengeti
