 Perhaps best known for the walks pioneered by Paul Oliver, Oliver's Camp is one of Tanzania's best bush camps and with it's excellent in-house guides, offers the best quality game experience in Tarangire. Olivers camp is located in the game rich wilderness area at the southern end of Tarangire National Park, to the east of Silale swamp and well beyond the reach of most tourists who visit the park. If you're looking to get the most out of Tarangire in the hands of people who are actively involved in the conservation of the area, this is the camp for you. Paul Oliver has been in Tarangire as long as anyone and has a deep knowledge and understanding of the area and today works closely with the parks authorities in the ongoing conservation of the park.  The design of the camp very much reflects the desire not to leave any permanent mark on the area. Each year the camp closes at the beginning of the rainy season and a week or two later you'd be hard pushed to tell where it had been. Whilst Oliver's Camp is very comfortable and superbly run by the small dedicated crew, it's not the place to go if you are looking for serious luxury. This is one of Tanzania's best bush camps and a place designed to compliment the unspoilt wilderness of this area. From it's location on the eastern boundary of the park you have access to the main Tarangire River which tends to be the focus for much of the game as the dry season progresses, but you can also explore the much less known wilderness area off road in places and also by foot. The camp is set in very attractive acacia woodland in prime position for the herds of migratory animals that flood into the park at the beginning of the dry season and out again onto the Maasai Steppe and rift valley in November
