The Selous Safari Camp is the sister camp to Jongomero Camp in Ruaha National Park and is with out a doubt one of the top two places to stay in the Selous Game Reserve if you are serious about your game viewing. Selous Safari Camp is comfortable and well run and is located in one of the better game locations in the Selous.

Selous Safari Camp prides itself on excellent quality throughout, with good service and well trained safari guides.

There tend to be two safari activities a day - morning and afternoon - for around 3 hours each and, like most of the top end lodges in the Selous you have the flexibility to make plans with the manager each evening for whatever you want to do the next day - boat, walk or drive (depending on availability).

This area of the Selous is a labyrinth of small channels, lakes and sand rivers running to and from the main Rufiji River channel.

This makes the area a particularly good place to explore by boat, whilst the woodland and plains that surround the lakes and rivers are excellent areas for game, whether you're on a walking safari or game driving.

Lakes Nzerekela (right by Selous Safari Camp) and Siwandu are particularly good in the dry season when large numbers of plains animals - zebra, wildebeest etc are drawn to the lakes to drink.
