Quite a large family owned lodge in a good position in northern Tarangire, overlooking the Tarangire River. This is an inexpensive camp and
a good choice if you're travelling with children as it has a pool.

The lodge sits high on an escarpment overlooking the Tarangire River a short distance from the main gate, with panoramic views over the deep valley in front. Game regularly comes to drink in the foreground, especially during the dry season and many species can be seen from the large terrace in front of the main lodge itself. The lodge is well placed to access the best game areas of Tarangire, so you'll be assured of good game viewing while you're here.

If you're on a tight budget and looking for a well run comfortable place to stay in Tarangire, this is the place. It's family owned and run, has absolutely no pretensions and has very friendly and efficient staff.

Food is uncomplicated, but good and there's plenty of it; superb barbeques in the evening with every kind of meat you can imagine and endless salads. There are forty basic, but comfortable tented rooms with ensuite bathrooms and electricity.

The downside is that this area is pretty busy so you are bound to see other vehicles, but the density of game in the area makes up for this. What's more, Tarangire National Park isn't a huge park and if you have your own private vehicle (which we strongly recommend) its perfectly possible to get a packed lunch and disappear for the day to the lesser visited areas of the park like Lake Balangida on the western side of the park.

There's also a swimming pool here set to one side, with a lethal looking water slide which is guaranteed to keep children happy for hours.
