Camp Serengeti Seasonal Western Migration

Our first choice for seeing the wildebeest migration in the Western Serengeti. This small, exclusive tented camp sets up in the Western Corridor in the months of July and August (although exact timings depend on the weather that year). This is the time when the migration comes off the southern plains and heads through the central and western Serengeti on it's way north. The Grumeti River flows through the western corridor and it is this, and the immense crocodiles that it contains, that present a formidable barrier to the herds.

The camp caters for only 8 people at a time and you'll have a private vehicle and guide as standard throughout your stay. For further detail on this camp see Nomad's Serengeti Safari Camp. Seasonal moves - the seasonal camps move around the Serengeti shadowing the wildebeest migration. Timing depends on weather for that particular year, but is roughly as follows:

December - March. Ndutu Seasonal Camp in the southern Serengeti
April - May. Moru Seasonal Camp in the southwestern Serengeti.
June - July. Western Corridor Seasonal Camp
August - November Northern Serengeti Seasonal Camp
