Arusha is the safari capital of Northern Tanzania. It's an unremarkable town in itself, but set in the perfect position for accessing all the major parks in Northern Tanzania. It sits underneath the 15,000 ft extinct volcano Mt Meru and the views of this on clear days are really impressive.

Like Dar es Salaam, there's not a great deal to be said about the town and beyond a short visit if you happen to be passing with time to spare, our advice would be that time is better spent in the bush.

Most people begin or end their safaris to northern Tanzania in Arusha. Kilimanjaro airport is 30 miles away and is serviced daily by KLM. The flight arrives at around 21:00, which means that an overnight is required before departing early the next day on Safari.

At Natural High, we've all lived and worked in Africa, so our knowledge is born of hands-on experience rather than simply visiting on holiday. We can't over-stress how worthwhile it is to take a few minutes to call us. We're not in the business of churning out thousands of packages so if you'd like to discuss things in detail, take a few minutes and call Catherine, Fiona, Vanessa & Alex on +44(0)1747 898104.
