Getting to Katavi

By Air - Until recently, the only way to reach it was by private charter, but these days the Tanganyika Flying Company runs flights from Arusha twice a week.

When at Katavi you're only a 50 minute flight from Mahale so it makes great sense to visit both since you've come this far.

Flying times are approximately as follows:

Katavi is so far away from anywhere that the only way to get there is by air.

Arusha to Katavi 3 ½ hours
Selous to Katavi 4 hours
Ruaha to Katavi 2 ½ hours
Mahale to Katavi 50 minutes.
Driving times: Days and days to get anywhere
