Most of our safaris in Northern Tanzania use a private vehicle and guide, so getting to Tarangire is done as a part of your safari which may take in other parks like Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti.

by road - The simplest way of getting to Tarangire is by road. The drive from Arusha to Tarangire main gate takes only around 2 ½ hours on a good road, which is tarmaced all the way. The road is initially the same one which goes to Lake Manyara National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater and Highlands, but divides after about 1 ½ hours at a place called Makuyuni.

by air - Tarangire is a short flight from Arusha - around 20 minutes. There are regular flights connecting Mamire (in south western Tarangire) with Manyara, parts of the Serengeti National Park and Arusha.
