Moivaro Lodge is a 4 star lodge just 15 minutes from the centre of Arusha town and close to the main road to Kilimanjaro airport. The lodge and accommodation is nestled within a 40 acre coffee plantation, with fantastic views of Mount Meru. The cottages are on the small side but feel private, tastefully decorated and each one has an open fireplace, which comes into its own in the cool months of May & June. The food has been the only let down and doesn't really warrant the 4 star label. Beyond that, everything is provided for here, from beautiful gardens to a massage room, swimming pool and guided tours around the plantation, local village and banana brewery can all be arranged, so plenty to do if you have children with you.
Location - Arusha
Arusha is the safari capital of Northern Tanzania. The most remarkable thing about it these days is probably the amount of traffic that manages to jam its streets daily. However, it is set in the perfect position for accessing all the major parks in Northern Tanzania, whether by road or by scheduled flight from Arusha Airport. By contrast with the town, Arusha National Park on the eastern side of Mt Meru is a gem and well worth visiting. Jump to page?
