Tarangire Treetops Lodge is located in a community conservation area to the east if Tarangire National Park. Each of the 20 treehouses are built on stilts around large baobab trees and from most of them you views over the surrounding bush. Read more?

This isn't somewhere with particularly striking natural views, but the design of the camp, built into the trees, does make the most of the location. As a result Treetops has something of a bush-camp feel, with the interiors of the rooms simply, but well done; furniture is deliberatley sparce with directors chairs and small tables creating an impression of uncomplicated elegance. The rooms are very large and the suites are quite open plan, making them quite 'intimate' as far as the bathrooms as concerned, so if privacy in this department is key for you, then bare this in mind. The staff here are all extremely friendly and welcoming and you are very well looked after.

Our only negative point, is that Treetops is about 45 mins drive from the park gate; but since the National Park has no fences you are more than likely to see large herds of animals outside the park boundary; so whilst it is a long drive to get into the National Park proper, that doesn't mean there's no game to see on the way.

Tarangire is particularly worth visiting in the dry season when the Tarangire River is one of the few sources of permanent water in the area. Consequently, it attracts large numbers of animals (most notably elephant, wildebeest and zebra) from the surrounding Maasia Steppe.  Jump to page?
