Mobile safari camps, whether they're private luxury camps or lightweight walking camps, are all about privacy and the possibility of real flexibility in planning the route you take on safari. This is a real luxury that shouldn't be underestimated, particularly when you consider that in some parks, most notably the Serengeti National Park, game movements can be large and unpredictable. The mobility allows you to respond to game movements and access the best action in a way that a static safari lodge clearly cannot do. In some places the mobile safari camps are simply the best way to leave the other tourists behind and immerse yourself in the wild, where there are no permanent camps.Lake EyasiLake Eyasi is an unusual area to visit - not a major game destination, but scenically dramatic and culturally interesting. It works well with a mobile camp as it allows you to build it in at the end of a walking safari, or in combination with high impact game areas like the Serengeti. In doing so you get a great sense of continuity - both with your crew and in terms of understanding how the geography of the area fits together. Lake Manyara National ParkIf you would like to explore Manyara in some depth and take your time to soak up the scenery and the subtler side of Lake Manyara (as opposed to rushing in and out for a morning) then a mobile camp, like the Ngorongoro Wilderness Mobile which can move with you throughout Northern Tanzania, is the only way you can actually stay in the park, other than Lake Manyara Tree Lodge. Lake NatronLake Natron is an exceptionally wild area and one that (thankfully) not many people visit. It's dry, dusty and at times staggeringly hot, but the sense of awe that the place inspires, with the natural mirror of the lake reflecting the perfect shapes of the surrounding volcanic hills, is something that we think is pretty special. To do this area properly a mobile camp is the answer so you can understand how this are fits in with the surrounding areas; the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater and Highlands. LoliondoLoliondo is not only the perfect compliment to the Serengeti at certain times of the year, because you can walk and night drive, but for some of the year is where the best of the game is to be found. There are no permanent camps in the area, so the best way to see this area is with a mobile camp. Ngorongoro Crater and HighlandsThe Ngorongoro Crater is well worth a visit, but it's also worth taking the time to explore some of the rest of the highlands while you are there. A mobile camp not only gives you the opportunity to see some of the beautiful scenery, like the Empakai Crater, but also allows you to see the best of the Crater, with out having to stay in a lodge with 100 other people. Selous Game ReserveThe Selous is somewhere that offers a real opportunity to explore the wilderness on foot and by boat, using a mobile camp. Here, the camps are lightweight flycamps, but the wilderness experience is second to none. Serengeti National ParkThe Serengeti is large and diverse enough to justify spending several days in a number of different locations. There is quite simply no better way of doing this than with a private Serengeti Wilderness Mobile camp that moves with you. Take in the migration, wherever that happens to be and experience the full range of variety (of scenery and game) that exists in this park - all at your own pace. Tarangire National ParkIf you want to experience Tarangire at your own pace then a private wilderness mobile camp is the way ahead. You can explore at your own pace, camping at night in private campsites and exploring by day with a private vehicle and guide.
