Linyanti Kwando & Selinda camps - Savuti Camp
Raised high off the ground, in a grove of hardwood trees and overlooking a large waterhole, Savuti is one of the more luxurious 'classic' camps and benefits from being only one of three properties in the 125,000ha Linyanti Wildlife Reserve.
Since the waterhole is the only source of water in the immediate area it attracts a great deal of wildlife, especially during the winter months when the elephant populations particularly can reach into the hundreds. Viewing game from the camp hide can be just as entertaining as game drives.
Activities in this area are entirely land-based so you can expect game and night drives, walks and time spent just relaxing on the deck of the lodge or in the hides. All the predators occur here; lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dog, but the main focus is the large elephant population - a real highlight in this part of Botswana.
The camp itself is beautifully laid out and stylishly designed with contemporary, elegant furniture and pale fabric panels that make for a light, refreshing feel. The main sitting and dining area is open fronted, affording broad views out over the grassland and waterhole beyond.
