Etosha National Park camps - Anderssons Camp

Anderssons Camp

Andersson’s is one of four lodges on the Ongava Private Reserve, situated just outside the southern Okaukuejo Gate of Etosha National Park. The lodge is built around the old farm house, now cladded in the distinctive white calcrete found scattered around the Etosha region. A wide verandah with comfy chairs and red-brick floors provides a cool respite from the afternoon sun, as does the plunge pool was formerly the farm’s water tank.  Although this is a family friendly camp, it's worth noting that the pool is not child friendly at all.

The twenty rooms are a mixture of canvas, wood and corrugated iron set on wooden platforms. They have a sort of rustic farm-shed appearance, complete with a big metal basin in which you stand to shower. Big windows open onto a little balcony. The whole camp is enclosed within a security fence which is visible in some areas and may make you feel as though you are the one in the zoo, but it is a comforting thought if you are staying with young children. There are family units and kids are welcome here.

The camp is relaxed and informal without much fuss and fanfare. You can do game-drives and walks within the Ongava Reserve or venture into Etosha National Park if you are so inclined.
