Arusha camps - Karama Lodge

Karama Lodge

About one hour from Kilimanjaro airport this is a basic but comfortably eco lodge with rooms built on stilts, just outside Arusha town on Suye Hill.    There is quite a bit of wildlife about including some rather cheeky monkeys.   The food is very good and the service welcoming, helpful and cheerful.   It can sometimes be a bit noisy with dogs barking and a nightclub pumping out music from a nearby village, but when good, reasonable options are few and far between in this area, it is an ideal place for an overnight stay and it will not break the bank.

Mainly an overnight stop over.  There is a spa and you can have guided walks in the area or visit the Monduli Maasai Market or hike around or canoe on Lake Duluti a small crater lake of the Moshi Road.

You can book the hotel on a bed and breakfast, half board or full board rate but will always have to pay extra for drinks and laundry and any extras.
