Luxury safari camps tend to have large walk-in tents. Bathrooms are generally en-suite. Crews tend to be between 6 and 10 (in number, not age that is) and you’ll generally have a sizeable dining tent as well as your sleeping tents. Light mobile safaris are more pared back – this is partly about keeping costs down, but it's usually more directly about being able to stay properly mobile and access more remote areas.

The less unnecessary clutter you bring, the fewer camels / donkeys or trucks you’ll need and the happier your camels donkeys or trucks will be as a result. Expect good-sized dome tents or bell tents or small safari tents. You will have a dedicated crew of 3-4 as well as good quality but simple 3-course meals.
